On the morning that Chester C. Cluckington went missing, rumors began circulating through the henhouse as to the nature of his disappearance. "Where could he have gone?" chirped Charlotte. "He had been acting rather depressed lately," remarked Caroline. "He's been molting all over the coop," complained Cecilia. "I heard last week," Cindy said smugly, "that he was planning on crossing the road." Gasps echoed throughout the coop. "But why?!" someone cried out. Cindy smirked. "He said he wanted to 'get to the other side.'" The Farmer slammed open the coop and dropped Chester's dead body, mangled by tire tracks, on the hay-covered floor.

The first thing Emma thought upon entering Conditioning Hall 3 was: God, it's bright in here. The walls were so white that bleach would have stained them; the linoleum floors displayed no trace of anyone ever having walked there. Emma instinctively raised her hand to her eyes to protect them from the bright light of the fluorescent lamps overhead, and although every surface in the hall was about as reflective as scientifically possible, not one of the nine visitors strolling down the hall cast any sort of shadow. With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards. In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out
